The Futures Arcade is an online platform that uses interactive tools and youth-driven content to make career planning more engaging for high school students.
The Futures Arcade is an online platform that encourages students to take charge of their future career planning. We envision it as a catalyst for students to develop a passion for learning and a valuable set of 21st-century skills. Both are vital to the success of youth for achieving their future aspirations. We foresee the platform having three components: an interactive skills-finder tool that helps students identify their skills and interests; career and role model-centered content curated by students; and a financial planning tool that provides a cost-benefit analysis of pursuing one career over another. We want to provide students with the resources to make their own decisions about their future. In doing so, we hope to: a) motivate students to learn outside of school; b) showcase a diversity of relatable role models and career paths; and c) expand the career options students believe they can achieve.
